OverviewChristian Academy of Dance is a ministry of Living Rock Church, which is fully operated and run under the direction of Senior Pastor Ryan Young and the board of directors. CAD is committed to serving God by offering quality instruction in classical ballet and dance education within a Christ-centered environment.
Our school offers dance classes for students age three through adult with varying goals and aspirations. Faculty members are dedicated to providing a Christian worldview of dance as art and to instilling in students the desire to use their talents to glorify God.
Offering excellence in training, reaching for excellence in character, and serving our community through the art of dance.
PurposeThe purpose of CAD is to fulfill the Great Commandment (Luke 10:27): To love and worship the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength through life, dance, and the arts. We want to be a blessing to our dancers who wish to develop their character as well as their dance technique. We are dedicated to providing a loving, encouraging, Christ-centered environment while training dancers to express their joy in dance to the world. Each student is encouraged to strive for their personal best in a non-competitive, accepting environment.
What We Believe
As a ministry of Living Rock Church, Christian Academy of Dance follows this statement of faith.
God's Word is the only completely reliable and truthful authority and we accept the Bible as our manual for living. We believe that the Bible is inspired by the Holy Spirit. The Bible is the basis for all we believe.
2 Timothy 3:16
1 Thessalonians 2:13
There is one true God, who has existed for all eternity. Revealed in Scriptures as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each member of the Trinity posseses equal power and authority.
2 Corinthians 13:14
God the Father
God is Holy, all knowing, ever present and unchanging. He is our Father; loving, compassionate and faithful, worthy of our trust.
Jesus the Son
Jesus was God's first-born son, born of the virgin Mary. He is at the same time fully human and fully God. He lived a sinless life on earth and voluntarily paid for our sin by dying on the cross as our substitute. Jesus rose from the dead and ascended into heaven, offering us the ability to follow Him in living victoriously over sin and death.
Luke 1:30-35, 24:46-47
1 Timothy 2:5-6
The Holy Spirit
When Jesus ascended into heaven, He sent the Holy Spirit to empower believers. The Holy Spirit convicts people of their sin and God's righteousness. He guides believers into becoming more like Christ, by being God's power within us.
Acts 1:7-8, 2:1-4
Man & Woman
God made man and woman in His own image. They were created to have fellowship with God, but became separated from God through their sinful disobedience. This sin resulted in the fall of mankind.
Genesis 1:26-30, 2:7, 2:16-22, 3:3-6
Salvation occurs when we acknowledge our sin and put our faith in the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross in our place. It is a free gift from God - not by our own effort - and must be received personally by repentance and faith. Our salvation restores us to relationship with God, and ensures our eternal fellowship with God in heaven.
John 3:15-18, 11:25-27, 14:1-2
Romans 3:23-26, 8:1-3
The global church is made up of all born again followers of Christ. The local church is a community of believers committed to the teachings of Jesus, working together in love and unity to glorify God and bring the gospel to the world.
